'Megumi And Tsugumi' Review

Today's Friday review is the manga 'Megumi And Tsugumi' from the author Si Mitsuru. This manga is quite short as of now and is ongoing (for now we have volume 1 and Volume 2 (to chap 4)).

However, I have already found this manga really interesting. The story is one of two yankees, Megumi (an alpha) and Tsugumi (an omega). Tsugumi has the power to control his heats through sheer willpower, but ends up in conflict between his usual attitude and his desire towards Megumi, who is an alpha not like others.

Anyways here is the review;

What I liked:

First of all, what I like the most about this manga is the unusual characterisation of an omega. Usually in most omegaverse narratives (and I've read a lot), the omega is immediatly corrupted by his desires and once he gives in, the dilemma results more towards the alpha. Here, we have Tsugumi who does not care about his heats and just goes ahead and kick ass. It is quite refreshing. Furthermore, Megumi, despite falling in love with Tsugumi, manages to control himself and not make him his against his will.

The characters are really endearing and this manga is also great to have a laugh. I particularly like the parents of Tsugumi who give off a vibe of 'Jojo's bizarre adventures' vibes in my opinion.

The drawing style is also very neat.

What I didn't like:

Overall, I really enjoyed this manga but one thing I do not like is within the plot itself. In the latest chapter released, Megumi's best friend declares his love for Megumi himself. I do enjoy the plot twist and the idea of a love triangle forming, but I feel as though the character of Subaru (the best friend) isn't introduced well. In the first volume, we just see him as a side character to advance plot, and in one chapter he suddenly becomes the main rival! The story has yet to be finished, but I feel as if it is a bit weird to suddenly create a rival. However, I have to add that I do love the fact that the rival is also an alpha, so we're getting a alpha x alpha x omega love triangle!

Overview/Grade:

Overall, I do really enjoy this manga as of now. We are only in the beginning of volume two, so a lot can still change, therefore, I will propably be making an update of this review when it is completed. As of now, I give this manga a solid 7/10.
